Mini-Vacation

Mini-Vacation

Last week, to celebrate Father's Day, Matt and I took the girls to a cabin at a beach campground for a couple of nights. We had a blast. It was especially fun because Abigail understood that we were away and that it was special. She kept calling the little cabin, "our beach house."

She still loves the beach. The afternoon that we had beach weather, she played in the sand non-stop making sandcastles.

The only bad part of the trip is that Abigail is not used to driving in cars, and the poor thing threw up four times on the way there. It was heartbreaking because we couldn't do a thing about it. Fortunately on the way home we were able to travel during nap-time, so she slept and kept her lunch down.

Making Rain

I gave Abigail some paper so she could color Matt a card for Father's Day. She was pounding furiously making dots all over the paper. I asked her what she was coloring, and she said, "I making rain."
