Imagination

Abigail cannot wait for Isa to really play with her. Right now the best she gets is Isa playing near her. I often catch them both under the table or the high chair, and ABigail is playing "elevator." They are most often on their way to go see Madeline and Anna in Scott adn Shelley's building. Occasionally I have to rescue Isa out from under the legs of a chair when she's not in the mood to go along and play elevator as well. Abigail still doesn't quite get that.

School Days

It seems like every kid develops a pat answer to appease their parents when talking about school. "How was school today?" "Fine." Well, at 2 1/2 and only 6 weeks of school, Abiagil has already come up with hers. I'll ask her, "Abigail, what did you do in school today?" Every time she answers me, "I play and talk and laugh," or maybe, "I talk and laugh and play."

If you're happy and you know it...

Clap your hands! Isa is now clapping and waving - it's hilarious. Seemingly randomly she'll just bust out waving in the general direction of anything. I think right now she's just captivated by the fact that her body moves in such a way. She does like to clap while watching herself in a mirror.

Zucchini

The other day I was boxing up all of our summer clothes and Abigail saw her bathing suit.
"Mama, can I put my zucchini on?" she asks me.
I almos bust out laughing, but I didn't want her to feel bad so I managed with a straight face to say, "No, honey, it's too cold to put your bikini on."

All at once

Of course at the beginning of this month all four of Isa's top teeth decide to come in at once. Let me tell you, it sure made for some interesting nights. Several times she decided that she'd just rather party from 3-5 am instead of sleeping. It was touch and go for Matt and I, the zombies, there for a while but a good bit of baby ibuprofen and a tube of gum-numb got us through.
