Why did Jesus have to die?

Yesterday we went to a Good Friday processional in our neighborhood. This was one of the best ones I've seen here in Santiago- best in the sense that even though it was a Good Friday processional it was still hopeful. Besides the masked drummers and trumpeters there were also children dressed in period costume that each carried a pillow bearing an object that represented parts of Good Friday - a rooster, a crown of thorns, a staff with a sponge on the end, coins, etc. Those were all great in helping us recount the history with Abigail. Also, besides a crucifix and men bearing large beam crosses, there were banners with symbols of the resurrection as well. It felt very hopeful especially in light of Good Friday's dark history. It's been really fun answering all of Abigail's questions.

Colds

I love how kids think! The other night Isa woke up screaming with a stuffy nose. She was sitting up in bed, rocking back and forth and crying, "My nose is closing! My nose is closing!" If I hadn't felt so bad for her, I would have laughed out loud!
